How this is calculated
Pay is calculated as ordinary hours × base rate, plus a 25% loading for casuals (in lieu of paid leave) when selected. Overtime hours are paid at 150% of the base rate for the first two hours and 200% after that — this matches the most common Modern Award provisions but always check your specific award schedule.
Superannuation is calculated on ordinary time earnings at the Superannuation Guarantee rate of 12% (effective from 1 July 2025).
PAYG withholding uses the ATO weekly tax table brackets for residents claiming the tax-free threshold. This is an estimate only — the exact amount depends on any Study and Training Support Loan (HELP/SFSS) debts, Medicare levy variations and additional offsets declared on the TFN declaration.
Rates change each financial year. The tool uses the current 2025–26 figures. For binding pay calculations, always reference the Fair Work Ombudsman.
