Hydrocarbons Field Geologists Award
Occupational award covering offshore mudloggers / data engineers in oil-and-gas exploration. Distinctive 4-component pay structure, 12-hour × 164-day work pattern, excess-attendance threshold, split annual-leave rate, BSc qualification rate variant, and cl 12.3 absorption of weekend/PH/disability into base rates. All classification rates, daily rig allowances, hourly rig allowances, casual hourly rates, excess-attendance amounts cross-checked line-by-line — zero drift on any figure.
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All classification rates verified at 1 July 2025 figures — zero drift.
- 4-component pay structure: base + daily rig + hourly rig + casual hourly variant (D1).
- 12-hour × 164-day work pattern (D2) with excess-attendance threshold and rate (D3).
- Split annual leave rate (D4): different rate basis on/off rig.
- BSc qualification rate variant (D5).
- Cl 12.3 absorption — weekend/PH/disability ABSORBED into base rates (D6); resolver must NOT apply Sat/Sun/PH penalty on top.
Known limitations
- Cl 12.3 absorption (D6) requires resolver awareness — do NOT compound weekend/PH/disability penalties on top of the absorbed base rate.
- 12-hour × 164-day work pattern (D2) is a per-employee schedule — captured via configuration; engine must validate roster against pattern.
Setup & special instructions
- Cl 12.3 base rates ABSORB weekend, public holiday and disability allowances. Do NOT add Sat/Sun/PH penalty multipliers on top — those are already in the rate.
- 12-hour days × 164-day work pattern is the standard rig roster — different from typical 38hr/wk model.
- Cl 11.4 only references 'adequate breaks' — award is silent on rest period and meal break specifics. Do NOT enforce 10-hour rest period as if it were genuine (this is fabricated in some seeders — distinct from MA000024 where 10hr rest is genuine cl 16.4).
- BSc qualification rate variant applies where employee holds the relevant degree.
- Excess-attendance threshold and rate apply when actual rig days exceed 164/year.
