Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award
Covers the passenger vehicle transportation industry — operators and drivers of motor vehicles, limousines, hire cars, buses, coaches, electric tramways, monorail and light rail. 6 grades shared across two operational sectors (standard vs two-driver), standard rate Grade 3. No apprentices — driving classifications only. Junior rates use 3 age bands (under 19 / 19 / 20).
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All 6 cl. 15.1 grades shared across both sectors, mirrored as 12 classification rate rows.
- Two sectors: standard (cl. 20.1 — early-or-late 115% premium for work before 6am or after 7pm, plus standard weekend / PH penalties) and two_driver (cl. 20.2 — lower weekend / PH percentages but PHs other than Good Friday / Christmas attract an extra 8 hours of ordinary pay).
- Junior rates: under-19 at 70% (replicated across junior_16_and_under, junior_17 and junior_18 rows for resolver compatibility), 19 at 80%, 20 at 100%.
- Sole-charge override (cl. 15.2(b)) — junior aged 18+ in sole charge of a passenger vehicle is paid the adult rate.
- 12 penalty rows including the distinctive 1.15x / 1.25x / 0.50x rate labels.
- Coach / bus single-day charter waiting time at 50% of minimum hourly rate (cl. 13.3) — paid in addition to applicable penalty / loading and excluded from overtime.
Known limitations
No outstanding gaps at this revision — re-verify on the next Fair Work pay-guide release.
Setup & special instructions
- Each driver must be assigned a sector — standard or two_driver — to drive the right penalty / PH regime.
- There is no Mon-Fri 'span' — ordinary hours can be on any day of the week (cl. 13.1(b)). The 115% early-or-late premium replaces the standard span concept.
- Two-driver operations: PHs other than Good Friday and Christmas Day attract an extra 8 hours of ordinary pay; Good Friday and Christmas Day are 125% + extra 8h ordinary.
