Cotton Ginning Award
Industry award covering cotton ginnery operators throughout Australia. 6 classifications (CG1 first-6-mo / CG1 after-6-mo / CG2 standard / CG3 / CG4 / CG5). Distinctive features include all-purpose disabilities + leading-hand allowances inflating ordinary hourly rate, 3-tier leading hand band by team size, special contingency 4-row Moura/Cecil-Plains/Emerald/St-George × FT/Seasonal, seasonal employment as fourth pay condition, CG1 6-month progression, and the night-loading vs annual-leave-loading mutex (cl 23.2(b)).
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All 6 classifications (CG1 first-6-mo / CG1 after-6-mo / CG2 standard / CG3 / CG4 / CG5) at 1 July 2025 figures — zero drift on any figure.
- 11 allowances including all-purpose disabilities + leading-hand 3-tier band (D1/D2).
- 9 penalty rows including special contingency 4-row Moura/Cecil-Plains/Emerald/St-George × FT/Seasonal split (D3).
- 4 pay conditions: Full-Time / Part-Time / Casual / Seasonal (D4).
- Cl 11.1 distinctive casual interaction rules: `casual_loading_not_on_overtime=true` (cl 11.1(b)), `casual_penalty_substitutes_loading=true` (cl 11.1(c) — penalty + loading = penalty only), `casual_loadings_greatest_only=true` (cl 11.1(d)).
- Cl 23.2(b) leave loading INCLUDES all-purpose allowances (leading hand + disabilities) AND substitutes night loading (D6 mechanism).
- Cl 14A right to disconnect, cl 28A workplace delegates, cl 32 termination tiers + cl 32.2 job search, cl 33 redundancy with pay-difference and 1-day/wk job search.
- ~95 configuration entries.
Known limitations
- Special contingency allowances (D3) require sector_code routing on AwardPenalty rows for the 4 location × 2 employment-type combinations.
- All-purpose allowance baked-in (D1) requires resolver to add disabilities + leading-hand to base hourly BEFORE applying penalty/OT multipliers.
- Seasonal employment (D4) pro-rata FT benefits — requires runtime classification check to grant correct entitlement basis.
Setup & special instructions
- Standard rate basis = CG2 weekly (verify against current pay guide).
- Casual interaction rules per cl 11.1 are DISTINCTIVE — penalties SUBSTITUTE for casual loading rather than stack; greatest applicable loading only.
- Leave loading (cl 23.2(b)) INCLUDES all-purpose allowances AND substitutes night loading.
- Cl 14A right to disconnect — clause number is 14A (NOT 11A or 13A).
- Cl 16.4 minimum 10-hour rest period IS GENUINE for this award (distinct from MA000064/MA000109 where this was fabricated).
