Security Services Industry Award
Covers security officers, guards, monitoring and patrol services. 5 classifications (standard rate Level 3) with a two-column FT/PT vs casual penalty structure. Mon-Fri night work (12am-6am or 6pm-12am) carries a base 121.7% / 146.7% loading, escalating to 130% / 155% for permanent night workers (more than two-thirds of ordinary shifts span midnight-6am).
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All 5 cl. 15.1 classifications at the corrected July 2025 figures.
- Allowances: first-aid, firearm, broken-shift, four supervision tiers (all-purpose), relieving officer (all-purpose), aviation, meal-OT, motor-car / motorcycle vehicle, clothing reimbursement.
- Two-column FT/PT vs casual penalty rates including the permanent-night 130% / 155% case.
- Tiered Mon-Sat overtime (150% first 2 hours, 200% after) and Sun / PH at 200% / 250%.
- Cl. 19.5 call-back minimums — 2 hours for Mon-Sat admin / disciplinary, 3 hours other Mon-Sat, 4 hours Sunday.
- Annual leave loading per cl. 21.3 — greater of actual or minimum + first-aid / supervision / relieving + 17.5%.
Known limitations
- Cl. 19.1 14-hour-in-24 daily cap is documented but resolver enforcement should be confirmed for long-shift rosters.
- Permanent night work threshold (more than 2/3 of ordinary shifts spanning midnight-6am over a roster cycle) requires roster-cycle context to evaluate — the resolver consults configuration but the cycle window must be set up correctly.
Setup & special instructions
- Supervision (cl. 17.5, four tiers) and relieving officer (cl. 17.6) allowances are all-purpose — they fold into the ordinary hourly rate when assigned. Cl. 21.3(a)(ii) treats them (along with first-aid) as components of the AL payment.
- Set the permanent-night-worker flag on employees whose roster cycle qualifies (more than 2/3 of ordinary shifts span midnight-6am) so the 130% / 155% rates apply rather than 121.7% / 146.7%.
- Call-back minimums are scoped by attendance reason — admin / disciplinary work has a shorter 2-hour minimum on Mon-Sat than the 3-hour general minimum.
