Fast Food Industry Award
Covers take-away, drive-through and quick-service food establishments. Has several quirks worth knowing about: Level 3 splits into two supervisory sub-levels, Sunday penalties differ by classification level, junior rates start at under-16 (40%) and run all the way to 21 (100%), and there are two motor-vehicle rates (one for delivery employees at $0.52/km, another at $0.98/km).
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All 4 classifications including the L3 supervisory split — in charge of one or no person vs in charge of 2 or more.
- Junior rates from under-16 (40%) through 20-year-old (90%), with the distinctive 21-year-old 100% (falls through to adult).
- All cl. 17 allowances — Broken Hill, cold work plus stacking sub-zero, two meal-OT bands, FT / PT laundry, the two vehicle rates, travel time / excess and moving expenses.
- Tiered Mon-Sat overtime (150% first 2 hours, 200% after) and the level-dependent Sunday penalty (L1 at 125%, L2 / L3 at 150%).
- Cl. 20.5 Sunday-OT minimum 4-hour payment when the OT block isn't adjacent to ordinary hours.
Known limitations
No outstanding gaps at this revision — re-verify on the next Fair Work pay-guide release.
Setup & special instructions
- Sunday penalty depends on classification level — the resolver consults the employee's classification when computing Sunday rates. Level 1 employees get 125%, Level 2 and Level 3 get 150%.
- Delivery employees use the $0.52/km vehicle rate (cl. 17.8(a)); all other vehicle use is at $0.98/km (cl. 17.8(b)).
- There is no first-aid allowance in this award — don't assume the Retail / Hospitality $13.89 figure applies.
