Known limitations
- **Coverage is NARROW (cl 4.1)** — only State public sector incorporated bodies. Excludes State public service bodies themselves (cl 4.2 — departments and administrative offices). ~30 other industry awards excluded by cl 4.3.
- OT eligibility ceiling (cl 20.2): resolver must check classification's annual salary against AO6-C ($79,425 from PR786660). Above ceiling = no OT payment, regardless of hours worked.
- OT hourly rate cap (cl 20.3): even for eligible employees, OT hourly rate calculation must use the LOWER of (a) the employee's actual annual salary, or (b) AO4-C's annual salary ($68,770). This caps OT $/hr.
- Excess travelling time (cl 18.3(e)(ii)): requires both (a) salary ≤AO6-C AND (b) excess >30 min daily. Either time off or paid at ord rate.
- Higher duties tiering (cl 15.3): requires both (a) ≥5 consecutive working days AND (b) measurement of proportion of duties (25/50/75/100%). Must include PH/authorised absences within or immediately after the 5-day period in the calculation.
- HD continuation in AL: depends on (a) prior consecutive HD days at start of leave AND (b) whether employee continues HD on return.
- AL loading cap (cl 22.2(b)): max loading $ amount = 17.5% × AO7-B annual rate at 1 January of leave year. Resolver must compute this cap per leave year.
- Shift and OT not cumulative (cl 20.5): when multiple rates apply (e.g. Sat shift 150% + Sat OT first 3hr 150%), pay the HIGHEST single applicable rate, NOT both.
- Meal break: 20 min minimum (NOT 30) for both first and second meal breaks.
- Fortnightly pay calc: annual × 14 / 365.25; PT pro-rata using fixed_hours / ord_hours.
- Pre-2010 parental leave preservation: stream-and-classification-specific; if classification existed in a pre-2010 award that provided paid maternity/paternity/adoption leave, those entitlements are preserved.
- PH ord 150% — DISTINCTIVE LOWER than typical 250%. Distinguish from PH OT (in excess of ord) which IS 250%.
- Work value level 'step' progression NOT automatic (cl 12.6) — dependent on demonstrated acquisition/utilisation of new and enhanced skills. Eligible for next step after 12 months satisfactory occupancy of current step. Advancement BETWEEN classifications requires promotion AND availability of suitable vacancy (cl 12.7).
