Miscellaneous Award
Default-coverage award for employees not covered by an industry-specific or occupational award. Deliberately flat structure — no sectors, no engagement subtypes, no shift-loading regime — so the resolver setup is simpler than a construction or manufacturing award.
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- Full classification + rate set per cl. 14.1.
- All allowances per cl. 18.
- Penalty rates including weekend / public holiday / overtime.
- Apprentice rates (4-year + adult).
- Junior rates by age band.
- Mon-Fri-outside-of-spread 120% loading (the only out-of-spread rule the award has).
Known limitations
- Junior rates: the under-16 rate ($8.94/hr) is a different rate to the 16-year rate ($11.48/hr), but the rate-type enum currently collapses them. The under-16 rate is preserved in AwardConfiguration (junior_under_16_pct, junior_under_16_hourly) and applied via configuration lookup — verify with payroll if the under-16 rate matters for any of your employees.
- Minimum engagement and minimum rest period are silent in the award text — the platform applies the documented seeder defaults: full-time 7.6 / part-time 3 / casual 2 hours minimum engagement; 10-hour rest period (NES default).
Setup & special instructions
- Use Miscellaneous only when no industry-specific or occupational award covers the employee — it's the fallback award.
- There are no sectors, engagement subtypes or shift-loading regimes — the only out-of-spread rule is the 120% Mon-Fri-outside loading.
- • Default coverage
- • Cross-industry employees
The consolidated award text is the authoritative source. Always confirm specific obligations against the award itself — Mployr's implementation status reflects what we've seeded; it does not replace legal advice.
