Telecommunications Services Award
Covers carriers, network operators, satellite operators and telecommunications service providers. Three streams — Customer Contact (6 levels), Clerical and Administrative (5 levels), Technical (6 levels). Apprentices are in the technical stream only. Standard rate is Telecommunications Technician.
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All 17 classifications across the three streams.
- Junior rates per cl. 15.2 — only 4 age tiers (15yo 50% via configuration, 16yo 60%, 17yo 70%, 18+ adult). Anchored to the lowest tier of each stream.
- 4-year apprentice grid for the technical stream — pre-2014 (42 / 55 / 75 / 88%) and post-2014 (with year-12 split, Year 4 corrected to 88% per cl. 15.3(m)).
- Adult apprentice variant: Year 1 80%, Year 2+ anchored at TECH_TRAINEE absolute rate, Year 4 at 88%.
- Leading-hand allowance corrected to per_week ($46.90 / $69.87 / $89.85).
- Penalty / OT setup: Saturday before 7am or after 1pm 150%, Sunday 150%, PH day-work 250% / shiftwork 200%, OT 150% / 200%, plus call-back / weekend-OT 3-hour minimums and tiered technical remote-support minimums.
Known limitations
- 15-year-old rate is collapsed into the junior_16_and_under enum slot due to schema constraint; the 50% percentage is captured in configuration.
Setup & special instructions
- Each employee must be assigned a stream — customer_contact, clerical, or technical — to drive the right rate table.
- Apprentices apply only to the technical stream. Customer-contact and clerical employees can't be assigned an apprentice variant.
- Less-than-10-hour-break-after-OT first 3h / after 3h penalties (150% / 200%) apply to FT only — don't apply them to PT or casuals.
