Aged Care Award
Three-stream award covering general aged-care work (cleaning, laundry, food services, personal care), the senior-food-services premium tier (single most senior food services employee at a facility), and the new direct-care stream introduced 1 January 2025 covering personal-care workers and ex-Nurses-Award AINs translated into the award. Standard rate is General Level 6.
Fully built. Rates, allowances, penalties and any required apprentice / junior rates are all wired to the rate resolver and have been verified against the consolidated award text and the latest pay guide.
What's built
- All three streams: General L1-L7, Senior Food Services L4-L7, and Direct Care L1-L6 (the 1 Jan 2025 PR779150 addition).
- Cl. 14.4-14.6 apprentice rates anchored to General L4.
- Allowances: per-shift / per-week uniform and laundry, leading-hand (four tiers, all-purpose), meal-OT bands, nauseous work, chef tool, vehicle, sleepover (cl. 22.9 — 5.2% of standard rate per night, $62.35).
- Penalty rates with the distinctive Sunday at 175% (not 200%), and Sat / Sun rates substituting for shift premiums per cl. 23.1.
- Casual OT rates per cl. 25.1(c) including the 25% loading: Mon-Fri 187.5% / 250%, Sat / Sun 250%, PH 312.5%.
- Recall to work 4-hour minimum (cl. 25.1(e)), fail-to-rest 200% (cl. 25.1(d)(ii)) and broken-shift-over-12-hours = double time (cl. 22.8(d)).

Setup & special instructions
- Sunday is paid at 175% (time and three-quarters) for FT/PT, NOT 200%. Casual Sunday is 200%.
- Sat / Sun rates SUBSTITUTE for shift premiums (cl. 23.1) — they don't stack. OT rates also substitute (cl. 25.1(a)(ii)).
- Shift loadings use COMMENCE-time bands (cl. 26.1), not finish-time. PT employees only get a loading if the shift commences before 6am OR finishes after 6pm.
- The Senior Food Services tier (cl. 14.2) applies only to the single most senior food services employee at a facility / site — don't assign it to multiple employees.
- Direct Care stream is new from 1 Jan 2025 — Schedule I provides translation arrangements for employees classified before that date and ex-Nurses-Award AINs.
