Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award
Covers the C-stream classifications used across general manufacturing, the V-stream alias used for vehicle manufacturing, and the four Driver classifications (D1–D4). All 19 unloaded base rates plus the all-purpose tool / leading-hand allowances are wired to the resolver — so an ordinary-hour pay run produces the right ordinary hourly rate today.
Partially built. Core rates and the most-used allowances are in place, but specific clauses or cohorts are still on the to-do list. Read the limitations section before relying on this award for your payroll.
What's built
- All 19 cl. 20.1(a) classifications — C14 → C2(b), V8, and D1–D4 — at the 1 July 2025 rates.
- Tool allowance (cl. 19.4) and leading-hand allowance (cl. 19.6) flow through to the ordinary hourly rate as all-purpose allowances.
- First-aid, meal, laundry and vehicle allowances tagged on-occurrence / as-incurred so they only apply when the relevant condition is met.
- Standard 38-hour week divisor — no engagement-based variations apply to this award.
Known limitations
- Apprentice rates (cl. 21) are not yet seeded — apprentices on this award currently need a manual rate override.
- Adult apprentice rates (cl. 22) likewise not yet seeded.
- Trainee minimum rates (Schedule D) not yet seeded.
- Phasing-in rates for employees without relevant work experience (cl. 20.1(e)) not yet seeded — Advanced Certificate / Diploma holders without industry experience.
- Vehicle Manufacturing technical workers, supervisors, trainers and coordinators (Schedule B) map to existing C/V rate rows by definition rather than as separate classifications — assign by skill level.
Setup & special instructions
- Vehicle manufacturing employees can use either the C-stream or V-stream alias for the same rate row — both names point to the same cl. 20.1(a) rate (e.g. C10 = V5).
- V8 is the only V-stream-specific rate (no C-stream equivalent) — used for Vehicle Manufacturing Employee Level VIII at $1,168.90/wk.
- C2 has two sub-levels — C2(a) is lower, C2(b) is higher.
